Rolled Marshmallow Fondant
Hello again guys. With my teacher's supervision I
learnt how to make a Rolled Marshmallow Fondant. This was my first attempt in
making this type of fondant it was quite different from the poured fondant and I
learnt a lot but sadly I didn’t get the outcome I was looking for and the
decoration aspect of this fondant was quite hard for me but I did my best and I
didn’t give up even though I felt really discouraged but like I always say there is
always room for improvement.
Ingredients
16 oz or 8 Cups white
marshmallows
2-4 tbsp water
2 lbs or 4 Cups sifted
confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup vegetable
shortening
Method
1. In a large bowl pour the water over the marshmallows
and give it a quick stir.
2. Then place the marshmallows into the microwave for 3
mins at 3 seconds intervals so every 30 seconds remove the bowl from the
microwave and stir the marshmallows and place it back into the microwave. Continue
that process until the marshmallows are completely melted.
3. Then add the icing sugar to the marshmallows 1 cup at a time until well incorporated.
4. Rub some vegetable shortening on the surface that
you will be using for kneading and rub
some on your hands to prevent the dough from sticking.
5. Knead the
fondant until smooth (like a dough).
Here is a video you can watch so that you will be
better able to understand the instructions.
Just looking at it makes me wants some. Great job!
